Product Description
1. Product Overview
The Hydraulic Impact Crusher (PFW Series) adopts world-class manufacturing processes. Unlike the lighter PF series, the PFW is built for heavy loads. It features a unique locking mechanism for the blow bars and a hydraulic system that not only opens the top for maintenance but also assists in adjusting the discharge setting. It is available in two versions: Two-Chamber (for coarse crushing) and Three-Chamber (for fine crushing/shaping).
2. Why Choose a Used PFW Series?
- Efficiency Upgrade: If your current PF crusher is a bottleneck, replacing it with a used PFW of similar size can boost production by 20-30% due to the optimized chamber design.
- Reduced Labor Costs: Opening a standard crusher to change parts is a heavy, manual job. The PFW’s hydraulic opening system makes it a one-man job, significantly reducing labor intensity and downtime.
- Better Product Quality: The optional third impact curtain acts as a “polishing” stage, ensuring the final product has practically zero needle-shaped particles.
3. Key Technical Features
- Hydraulic Jacking Device: Two hydraulic cylinders lift the rear frame, giving instant access to the rotor and liners.
- Heavy Rotor Design: The rotor body is strengthened and analyzed for finite element stress. It stores high rotational energy to smash through feed spikes.
- Wedge Fixing System: Blow bars are secured with wedges that are easy to remove, unlike bolts that can deform or rust shut.
- Versatile Curtain Configuration: The impact curtains can be adjusted hydraulically or mechanically to fine-tune the gradation curve of the output.
4. Applications
- Primary/Secondary Crushing: Can handle feed sizes up to 700mm (depending on model).
- Harder Materials: Capable of processing slightly harder rocks than the standard PF series due to the robust rotor.
- Premium Aggregate: Producing high-value stone for asphalt mixing plants.
5. Quality Assurance
For PFW units, we pressure-test the Hydraulic System to ensure the opening mechanism works smoothly. We check the Rotor Bearings (usually SKF or Timken in these models) for vibration. We also inspect the Impact Curtains for structural straightness.
6. Common Customer Questions (FAQ)
- Q: What is the difference between Two-Chamber and Three-Chamber?
- A: Two-Chamber is for general secondary crushing (larger input, larger output). Three-Chamber puts an extra grinding stage at the end, making it ideal for producing fine, sand-rich material.
- Q: Can I retrofit the hydraulic system to my old PF crusher?
- A: No, the frame design is completely different. The PFW is built with hinges and reinforcements to support the hydraulic opening. You must buy the PFW unit.
- Q: Is it suitable for river stone?
- A: Yes, it is excellent for shaping river stone, provided the silica content isn’t too extreme. It produces very nice round/cubic gravel.
- Q: How do you transport it?
- A: The PFW is heavy. We usually ship it as a complete unit on a Flat Rack, or if it fits, in an Open Top container. We secure the rotor to prevent movement during shipping.
